Once of the ways to look around for a proper home for your book is to go on various publisher's websites. They all have a tab for submission guidelines. You need to follow specifically each and every direction they provide. After all, they are stating exactly how they want to learn about your work. If you chose to send it in a form not asked for don't be surprised if you get a very quick rejection. That said, many publisher's websites have tabs for writing tips. For example, I was on Paul Fry Books (Philadelphjia publisher) andfound a list of links for thoughts and suggestions about books and publishing. This is a wonderful short list of articles that give you a small window into Paul Dry's thinking.  You can find them at this link: http://pauldrybooks.com/corner.php
