This is an excellent website for sorting out all those confusing rules and conventions, whether it be noun subject agreement or when to use a hyphen or an em dash.

Just go to this Daily Writing Tips site - http://www.dailywritingtips.com/ or even better, sign up and they will send you a daily email with a particular tip demonstrated with examples. I've made my own personal wiki, saving the tips I find most useful. There are also list of best synonyms to use or the differences between two words that are frequently misused.

Just as good as having the Wall Street Journal delivered right to your door each morning. My WSJ generally has bad news. DWT can only mean good news.
